Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Zikiti, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your province, to use Zikiti. If we make material changes to these terms, we’ll post the updated version here with a new date; continuing to use Zikiti after that means you accept the changes.

Zikiti is a platform for discovering restaurants, reserving real tables, and paying your bill in-app, with time-based savings set per restaurant. The restaurants on Zikiti are independent businesses. Your meal — the food, the service, allergens, dietary handling, and the premises — is provided by the restaurant, not by us. Zikiti arranges the table and moves the money; it is not a party to the meal itself.

Zikiti has no role in taxes or charges levied by governments or by restaurants, and any additional service charges on a bill are at the restaurant’s discretion.

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or through Google. Keep your email account secure — anyone with access to it can access your Zikiti account. Give us accurate information, keep one account per person, and don’t use Zikiti on someone else’s behalf without their permission. We may suspend or close accounts used for fraud, abuse, or repeated no-shows.

A Zikiti booking reserves a real table with real, finite capacity. When you book, a cover of $3.00 per guest is held on your card, and it is charged 45 minutes before your booking — the moment free cancellation closes. It is not a fee: attend and settle through Zikiti and it is credited against your bill in full.

For tables more than four days ahead we save your card instead and place the hold four days before your booking, emailing you when we do — a card hold cannot be kept alive for longer than that. If the cover cannot be taken at the 45-minute point, the booking is cancelled.

• You can cancel or modify a booking free of charge until the deadline shown on your booking — 45 minutes before your reserved time.
• If you don’t show up, the cover stays with the restaurant that held your table. Zikiti earns nothing from a no-show.
• If the restaurant cancels your booking, you get your money back in full whatever the timing.

Savings vary by restaurant, by hour, and by what’s left — an evening is not one price. The saving that applies to your booking is the one shown when you book, and the exact amounts — bill, discount, tip, and fee — are always shown before you confirm a payment. Savings shown on restaurant cards apply to reserved tables; walk-in savings are set separately by each restaurant and may differ. All amounts are in Canadian dollars.

When you save money through Zikiti, we charge you a platform fee of 15% of the amount you saved — never a percentage of your bill. The fee is a minimum of $0.99, is capped at $4.99, and is waived entirely on any bill of $9.99 or less. If you save nothing, the fee is nothing. It’s always shown as its own line before you pay.

Tips are optional and always calculated on the pre-discount bill, so your saving never shrinks what your server earns. 100% of every tip goes to the staff member who served your table. Zikiti takes no share of tips, ever.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Zikiti never stores your card number — cards you save are held securely by Stripe as payment tokens. By confirming a payment in the app, you authorize the exact amount shown. If a payment is declined at settlement, the restaurant may charge you directly for your bill, less any cover charge already held.

Only diners who actually paid a bill through Zikiti at a restaurant can review it — every review is a verified visit. Keep reviews honest, lawful, and about the dining experience. You give us permission to display your reviews on the platform, and we may remove content that is unlawful, abusive, or unrelated to a real visit.

From time to time we may offer rewards, referral credit, or similar programs. These are promotional, carry no cash value, and may be changed or withdrawn. Any program’s own stated rules apply to it.

Don’t misuse Zikiti: no fraudulent bookings or payments, no booking tables you don’t intend to use, no reselling reservations, no scraping, probing, or interfering with the service, and no misrepresenting who you are.

We work to keep Zikiti available, but it is provided “as is” and we don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. We may pause features — including bookings or payments — where necessary for safety, security, or maintenance.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of Ontario, including your rights under consumer protection legislation. Subject to that: Zikiti is not liable for the acts of restaurants (including food quality, safety, allergens, or service), and our total liability to you for claims connected with the service is limited to the platform fees you paid to Zikiti in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

You can stop using Zikiti at any time and can request deletion of your account — see the Privacy Policy for how deletion works. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, and disputes belong to the courts of Ontario. If something’s wrong, talk to us first — most things are fixable at support@zikiti.com. Zikiti Ltd., Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
